deposit & payments

A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to hold a goat. If for any reason, after the deposits given to gingerbread cottage farm, the goat becomes sick or injured the deposit will be refunded. If the buyer changes their mind, or cannot complete the sale for any reason, the deposit will not be refunded. Sales are on a first come basis after proper vetting of a prospective buyer by gingerbread cottage farm.

Reservations on specific breedings are given on a first come basis. You will be added to the reservation list in the order requests are received. Once the doe kids you will be notified within 48 hours and have 48 hours to respond after notification. If you do not respond within 48 hours your reservation is canceled and becomes available to the next person on the list.

payments due must be paid in full before any livestock leaves gingerbread cottage farm. Final payments are required before or at pickup, and may be paid via Venmo or check or cash.

pickup & transportation

When considering purchasing livestock from gingerbread cottage farm, please consider proper transportation methods. I would be happy to assist in making proper arrangements, but ultimately transportation falls under the responsibility of the buyer. livestock leaving gingerbread cottage farm must have humane transport, meaning the area in which livestock will travel properly accommodates them and provides protection from the elements.

Depending on the state, a health certificate may be required in order to transport livestock. Please check state laws and I can assist in coordinating as well. Cost of health certificates for transportation purposes are the responsibility of the buyer.

livestock management practices

gingerbread cottage farm will be disbudding, tattooing and vaccinating all kids prior to leaving the farm. if requested bucklings can be wethered prior to leaving the farm via banding. all kids come with cdt vaccinations and coccidia prevention.

sale policies

Gingerbread cottage farm reserves the right to retain any livestock at any time. gingerbread cottage farm reserves the right to sell livestock to buyers who may offer the highest quality home based on proper livestock management practices.

when buying a goat from gingerbread cottage farm the buyer must purchase two if they do not own goats. the buyer must have proof of ownership of another goat prior to picking up a goat purchased from gingerbread cottage farm.

health & performance guarantee

gingerbread cottage farm cannot guarantee the health of any livestock after it leaves the farm. the buyer will receive a copy of the health records of any goat purchased at the time of pick up.

The buyer may refuse livestock at the time of pick up if they feel they are not healthy. I care about all my livestock, on the farm and off, and will gladly offer advice if you have a concern or question. if you feel you have a serious concern with your livestock, I advise you to seek veterinarian care.

gingerbread cottage farm is not responsible for the performance of any livestock sold.

return & surrender policies

If at any time you decide you do not want to, or can not, keep your livestock purchased from gingerbread cottage farm, please let me know first. I can also assist in helping you find a home for your livestock if you wish, by advertising on social media and to my customer base.

If the livestock you purchased from gingerbread cottage farm shows signs of illness after purchased, or you are unable for any reason to properly care for the livestock, please reach out to me. I’d be happy to provided advice, although I am not a veterinarian, I advise you to seek veterinary care.

Other policies

gingerbread cottage farm does not tolerate the reselling of any livestock purchased from gingerbread cottage farm to auctions of any form. i never want to see any of my livestock suffer from preventable illnesses, not receive proper livestock care, or live in inhumane conditions. the reason for my buyback and surrender policies. please love your livestock and treat them with respect and kindness.
